
Biography
Jurgen is a professional self-motivated Ph.D. geologist with an extensive track record in the petroleum industry and academia.
With 15 years of professional experience, Jurgen has worked in international environments in The Netherlands, Scotland and Qatar. His main technical area of competence is in the quantification and reconstruction of petroleum and hydrogeological processes.
Jurgen worked as senior research consultant at the Upstream division of Qatar Petroleum Research and Technology Department. In this position he was bridging applied subsurface R&D with the day to day business related company portfolio. He was Project Manager and main technical lead of several R&D topics, including Geochemistry, Basin Modeling, Geological Model Building and Digital Rock Physics.
During his academic career, Jurgen has worked at universities in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and Glasgow, Scotland and specialised in low temperature thermochronology (Fission track and (U-Th)/He dating and noble gas isotope geochemistry (4He noble gas analyses and Cosmogenic Nuclide dating). Jurgen’s expertise in these fields was demonstrated in over 20 peer reviewed scientific publications.
